Social Audit of the Agriculture Supervisor Office

Objective: A social audit is a way of measuring, understanding, reporting and ultimately improving an organization’s social and ethical performance. Social audit helps to narrow gaps between goal and reality. Social auditing is taken up for the purpose of enhancing local governance, particularly for strengthening accountability and transparency in local bodies. Social audit includes measures for enhancing transparency by enforcing the right to information in the planning and implementation of local development activities.

Description: The village volunteers understood the concept and methodology of the social audit. As most of the villagers have their livelihood dependent on agriculture hence the exercise helps the women to know better the available facilities.

They learn the role of agriculture supervisors and how he can be optimally utilized as an asset to the village. Women ask and learn about the availability of medicines/ medical kit / spray for the plants and the crop during these audits.
