Books for North Korea – Please help!

Dr. Bernhard Seliger, Resident Representative of the HSF Korea, handing over books to the KETIC and the Grand People's Study House.

North Korea is often described as one of the most closed countries in the world. Through the difficult political situation, scientific contact to foreign countries is very limited. In addition, the ongoing economic crisis is a big challenge. Although the basic education in the school sector is very solid, there is a lack of access to modern media. Therefore there is a big interest in foreign scholarly literature.

Please help North Korea get in contact with important areas within the international scientific community again.

We are looking for books in the following areas:

 - Economy (national economics, business economics, finance)

- Agriculture (all areas, especially organic farming)

- Forestry (all areas, especially sustainable forestry)

- Environment and energy (all areas, especially renewable energy)

- Encyclopedias and dictionaries (especially economics and finance)

The books can be in German, Korean, English or French.

At disposal, the following institutions will be prioritized:

Korean Economic and Trade Information Center (KETIC) (– Scholarly literature on economics, encyclopedias)

- Academy of Sciences (Agriculture – and forestry, environment)

- Wonsan Agricultural University (agriculture and forestry, environment)

- Grand People's Study House (all areas)

You can send the books to the following address:
