The entire project can be structured in the following main parts: After the Inception Workshop at the beginning of the project, a base-line study will be conducted in order to identify the existing differences of Islamic perceptions on Islam and democratization. This study will be carried out in the form of a participative two-day workshop in Jakarta with high-ranking members of NU and Muhammdiyah and local representatives from each project region. After this so-called “mapping of conditions”, the actual training module will be elaborated in cooperation with all the relevant stakeholders. Following this step, the newly elaborated module will be disseminated through a “Training of Trainers” (ToT). In this step, experienced spiritual leaders and trainers from the project regions will be invited to Jakarta to receive training on the module. What follows is the main activity, namely the actual dissemination of the teaching material. It is envisaged to train 240 participants throughout the six project regions Riau, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, East Java, South Kalimantan and West Nusa Tenggara. Based on the experiences and evaluations made during this step, a revised module will be elaborated. The project then closes with a final conference and the launching of the revised training module. For this conference, around 100 high-ranking guests including representatives from all stakeholders and national media will be invited.
