BPPT

BPPT (a non-department directly under and responsible to the President of Indonesia) plays a crucial role in the transfer of technology and development of technical expertise. BPPT assesses the feasibility and economic, social, and cultural impacts of existing and future technologies, formulates general policies, designs and coordinates the implementation of training programs, and provides technical services to both government and private organizations. In addition, BPPT serves as a means for strengthening the human potential of Indonesians and for developing a human national resource base of experienced technical personnel. The programs undertaken are always concerned with actual problems being faced by Indonesian society.

HSF supports BPPT in its efforts to strengthen the administration of Indonesia's environmental protection by sharing scientists, technologies, information, technical assistance, and other required resources. HSF-BPPT conducts the training for government officials in the fields of environmental management and water resources management, in association with prominent Indonesian universities, such as the University of Trisakti in Jakarta, and the local governments of Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi Industrial Estate, and Jasa Tirta in Malang, etc.
