Member of German Federal Parliament Meets with Philippine Partners of HSF

During the Philippine leg of her visit to ASEAN countries, Mrs. Dagmar Wöhrl, MdB, Member of the German Federal Parliament and Chairperson of its Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development, met with key representatives of Philippine partner organizations of the Hanns Seidel Foundation/Germany (HSF). The meeting held last August 28, 2011 was a pleasant and interesting experience for everyone.

It was the first time for Mrs. Wöhrl to visit the Philippines and she shared a positive impression of the country and the people.  There was an interesting exchange of views and insights on the Philippine-German cooperation, HSF programs of cooperation in the Philippines and recent developments in the Philippines and Germany.

Joining the meeting with Mrs. Wöhrl were Former Senator Agapito “Butz” Aquino, Former Speaker Jose de Venecia, Jr., Hon. Loretta Ann Rosales, Chairperson of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR), Police Director General Nicanor Bartolome of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Mr. Senen Bacani of the National Cooperative Movement (NCM), Atty. Marlon Manuel, National Coordinator of Alternative Law Groups (ALG), Col. Domingo Tutaan, Jr., Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines-Human Rights Office (AFP-HRO) and Police Chief Superintendent Clarence Guinto, Chief of the Philippine National Police-Human Rights Affairs Office (PNP-HRAO).

Mrs. Wöhrl enjoyed their company and thanked them for the warm and kind reception extended to her. Mr. Paul G. Schäfer, HSF Resident representative expressed his gratitude to the partners for gracing the activity, as well as for their continued trust and cooperation to our joint programs and projects in the country.
