Support for follow-up activities in the field of co-operative systems development

3rd Cooperative Conference on Good Governance by the National Cooperative Movement (NCM)
The program has given support to the development of vital co-operative systems such as the Co-operative Deposit Insurance System (CODIS), which led to the organization of the CODIS Federation of Cooperatives, as well as the establishment of the National Cooperative Movement Mutual Fund of the Philippines, Inc. (NCMFPI), which are now fully operational. The Foundation also supported the ongoing development initiatives of NCM including, among others, seminar-workshops covering various topics such as, the formulation of a code of cooperative good governance, formation of a cooperative training institute, inclusion of cooperatives in the country’s medium-term development plan and, contribution to the formulation of a new Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) charter. Funding assistance has been committed to further support the NCM organization.

Hon. Cayetano Paderanga, Socioeconomic Planning Secretary and NEDA Director-General, stresses that a community of strong cooperatives contributes significantly in attaining a stable economy.
