During a visit in Thailand the Parliament State Secretary Christian Schmidt met with representatives of civil society and informed himself about the current political situation in Thailand. The situation of human rights was also an issue at the meeting.

Later on the occasion of a round table in the Thammasart University with members of the german politcal foundations and The German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPG) the subject of Thai Law enforcement agencies in the state and society was discussed.

Also a Meeting with the Defence Minister of Thailand was part of the visit of the Parliament State Secretary Christian Schmidt.
