Our work in Vietnam:

Projects in Vietnam are mainly targeted at providing a multidimensional development platform for the Doi-Moi-Policy (english: renovation-policy), which was initiated in 1986 and represents the starting point of important economic reforms. TheHanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) supports programs for handling the economic transformation and projects in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development. For example the integration of Vietnam into ASEAN-Community has been supported by HSF since 1995. In addition HSF assists its Vietnamese partners in rural development and in education programs.

HSF organizes seminars for policy makers in both politics and civil society to emphasize the needs of sustainable economic and social development. In this regard the development of ecological standards and business ethics are on the top of the agenda. Due to the geographical position of Vietnam with its long coast line and two big river deltas, the country is hit hard by climate change and rising sea levels. Supporting Vietnam in developing and implementing effective environmental protection laws is therefore crucial for future generations.
