Women Political Leadership Training Program

The Hanns Seidel Foundation in cooperation with the Center for Good Governance & Economic Development intends to conduct training aimed at empowering women for political leadership positions according to the principles of good governance. The program will help to increase and improve women participation in decision making organs in Tanzania.This training expected to be launched in May 2012 immediately after the selection of the participants who successfully met the required criteria.  more ...

In cooperation with its partner Integrity Watch (IW), Hanns Seidel Foundation started to establish Governance  Clubs  to complement the Corruption  Almanac Project.  Six Governance Clubs operates in three wards of Manzese, Goba and Mwananyamala in Kinondoni District of Dar es Salaam. The Hanns Seidel Foundation supports the training of elected Women Ward Councillors with the Center for Good Governance & Economic Development (CGG&ED). From the 28th of November until the 8th of December five seminars for 160 women councilors at all, who were elected in 2010, was conducted in five regions: Tanga, Mwanza, Iringa Morogoro and Mtwara.  more ...

Since 2008 the Hanns Seidel Foundation has been conducting Life skill seminars. The aim of these trainings is to enable villagers acquire basic life skills on health and nutrition, as well as awareness creation on issues like HIV AIDS, democracy, constitution, and cultural topics such as the female genital mutilation.
