In pursuance of its objectives Hanns Seidel Foundation (Ghana), in partnership with the African Peer Review Mechanism Governing Council (APRM-GC) undertook to establish as a pre-requisite, a functioning Nationwide District Oversight Committees (DOC’s) to implement the entire APRM process. In September 2007 the process to create DOC’s in the 170 Metropolitan/Municipal/District Assemblies commenced and was concluded in May of 2010 at Tema in the Greater Accra Region. Approximately 1700 officials have been sworn in and given the tools to implement the decentralisation concept of the APRM.
