Wildbad Kreuth

Nestled in the idyllic landscape between Lake Tegernsee and the Achen Pass, the former spa looks back on 500 years of history. For three hundred years, the „Sankt Leonhard“ spa was the property of the Abbots of Tegernsee until secularisation; in 1803, it was sold to a farmer from Kreuth.
Only 15 years later, King Max Joseph I of Bavaria (1756-1825) purchased the entire complex and extended it to its present size. The current owner from the Wittelsbach family, Duke Max in Bavaria, closed the sanatorium and the pump house in 1973 and leased the building to the Hanns Seidel Foundation. On September 25, 1975, Wildbad Kreuth opened as an educational center.
The building has 138 beds, and six conference rooms make it possible to run seminars from small groups of 14 persons to large-scale lectures for 150 persons. In addition, there is a festival hall available for major events which can hold 400 guests. The most up-to-date conference technology, including a public address system and radio studio, enable us to offer a wide variety of educational events. Every year, there are some 500 events for 19,000 participants.
