Dr. Ulf Gartzke
Director, Washington Office
Ulf Gartzke has been the Director of the Hanns Seidel Foundation’s Washington Office since July 2004. Before joining the Hanns-Seidel-Foundation, Mr. Gartzke worked at the World Economic Forum in Geneva, where he was in charge of the Forum's engagement with the global automotive industry. He previously worked for DaimlerChrysler’s Washington Affairs Office, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the World Bank in Paris, and the Christian Social Union (CSU) party headquarters in Munich. Ulf Gartzke studied political science and international relations at the University of Augsburg in Germany, Georgetown University in Washington, the Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) in Paris, and holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He is fluent in German, English, French, and Spanish.

Anja Korth
Office Manager, Washington Office
Ms. Anja Danila Korth has been working for the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Washington since August 1999. Ms. Korth holds a Bachelor of Science from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington as well as a Master of Arts, International Affairs from the School of International Service at The American University in Washington. She also spent her exchange year at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. Before joining the Hanns Seidel Foundation, Ms. Korth worked as an assignment editor at ZDF German Television’s Washington Studio. Ms. Korth has lived in Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Yemen, Namibia, and the United Kingdom. Her experience abroad has fostered her ability to work in international environments and in multi-cultural teams. Her mother tongue is German; however she is fluent in English and is proficient in French and Arabic.
