Asia was the first continent hit by what quickly evolved into a global pandemic. When the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) later referred to as COVID-19 was first detected in Wuhan, China in 2019, it did not take long for the virus to reach South Korea. In its Online Series, Hanns Seidel Foundation traces the spread of COVID-19 in different Asian Countries and highlights its political and social consequences of the virus. Coming up next, El Eunyoung Lee will discuss the impact of COVID- 19 in Korea.
