Talking Asia Politics
“Talking Asia Politics” is a new and comprehensive program, launched by the Institute of International Cooperation of Hanns Seidel Foundation, in order to highlight the importance of politics in Asia within a global context. With more than half the world’s population living in Asia, the world’s future will be extensively shaped by political, social and economic developments in the region. Germany and the EU have to strategically engage in and with the region if they want to be able to shape future developments. Together with experts from Asia and Europe, “Talking Asia Politics” will look into the dynamics which are unfolding on the continent and in its relationship with Europe. The China-India Dialogue examines the bilateral relationship between China and India, and sheds light on the consequences for the region and beyond. The Covid-19 series discusses the spread of the virus in eight different Asian countries and highlights the political and social repercussions of the pandemic in the region. The Age of Asia: China India Dialogue
With the new online series "The Age of Asia: HSF China India Dialogue", Hanns Seidel Foundation would like to discuss commonalities, differences, diverging interest and perceptions with experts of these two countries. No other region of the world will shape the future as much as Asia, and Europe's future will also be decisively shaped by the two superpowers. While China is seen in Europe as a partner, competitor and increasingly as a "systemic rival", India is seen as a value partner in multilateralism. The series aims to find answers to these interrelationships. Answers for the countries themselves and the region, but also for European actors. The series The Age of Asia: HSF China India Dialogue is a joint initiative by HSF’s Asia divisions.
